Hi there!  I am Julie.  If you are here it is likely because you have seen my work and have connected with it, so thank you!

I have had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember and photography is a huge part of my life.

I have a degree in Child Development and Teaching and am trained as a Newborn Care and Childbirth Educator, Birth and Postpartum Doula. I have studied Photography at Washtenaw Community College and continue to learn and grow as a photographer by taking tons of photos and attending professional workshops. It was natural for me to combine my trainings and interests to work with children and families through the art of photography.

I have been married to my husband for 28 years and we have three amazing children, Ryan, Kyle & Anna.

My husband and I were both born and raised in Ann Arbor where we met in high school.  After college, a wedding and the birth of our first son, we took a leap of faith and moved across the country to Seattle.  While we loved the Pacific Northwest and all of the wonderful people we met there, we missed our family and friends back in the mitten and decided to move our three children (yes--we grew a little in Seattle!) back home after nine years.  We made many close, lifelong friends along the way and now enjoy our trips back to visit our friends and celebrate life milestones of our children like graduations, weddings and births!

As a family we enjoy cooking (& eating of course!), playing games, listening to and making music and lazy, sunny summer days at our family lake cabin.

As you can see, family is very important to me and it is my passion to capture the pure connection present in every family.  I am a people person and I love being able to get to know you and your children as we relax and have fun, all while capturing your own personal family magic!

I am so excited to meet you!
